Concept

The concept for this work of art came from the desire to make a collaborative sculpture with other artists on the theme of conservation. Pat and his friend and fellow sculptor requested artists from around the world to send them small rocks from their favorite stream with a story of why that stream is important to them. The small stones are embedded in pewter and bronze and inlaid into the bench.

Pat designed the bench to look organic and flowing so one might sit and have a conversation about conservation while hearing someone on the other side of world having a similiar conversation. The bench is being donated to the MIR Peach Centre at Selkirk College in Castlegar British Columbia.
