Most of Pat Field's work strives for an elegance of line and contour.
The works in this gallery are hand carved from marble and are suitable for indoor or outdoor settings.
Pat usually builds his initial designs with plaster or wax maquettes . The pieces are built to be touched. They are proportioned so that the human hand can comfortably conform to their contours. When the stone versions are completed, no matter what scale they are built on, touching these pieces will connect you to the same feel he had when making them.
The sculptures have been sanded to 1800 wet and dry, and are very silky to the touch. Touching of the works, especially the table top examples will, over time, give them an attractive patina. |
